Where shall i start.... The solo sax through dinner
was amazing it just added that little bit extra to the
meal and was the talk of the hall.
Evening Star turned up and not only sounded amazing
but looked it too! The whole image and sound fitted
in perfectly. I didnt want to go for a disco so i
thought a band would be the best bet and when i heard
the demo CD i was just so impressed i thought you were
the real thing! So i knew you would be good. All my
guests were commenting on the band all night and from
the photographs i can honestly say it was a great
night - so thank you. 10 out of 10. I will be
reccommending you to all of my friends......

Evening Star
Mark,
The evening went brilliantly, thank you, in no small part to the
talent, friendliness, enthusiasm and hard work of the five piece
Evening Star who were truly outstanding. The girls even changed
in the break much to the chaps' delight! Stunning outfits.
The band arrived early, set up efficiently and enjoyed a quiet meal
in the bar before their set which, as it started late, they changed
from three short to two long sessions. We appreciated that flexibility.
They fully entered into the spirit of the night as everyone was
up dancing from the opening number "Celebration" and the
"audience" responded to them - my only complaint is that
I danced non-stop and am still stiff!
They were very professional (including in their communications prior
to the event) and mixed my selection from their playlist cleverly
to capture the mood through the evening - YMCA, the Full Monty medley
and closing with New York, New York with everyone (95) in a circle
kicking in time - were inspired!
,
Everyone commented on how good they were and how did we find them.
Plus Phil played a solo sax set during dinner which was sublime.
I foresee further bookings both from our guests and from Farnham
Castle as they work so well there. It was the Catering Manager Alan
Ball at the Castle who recommended them as, acoustically and with
no drums, their sound works so well in the Great Hall with its very
high ceiling.
Plus I love the saxophone so it was a great sound especially when
the girls joined Phil on the sax!
I have no hestitation in recommending them to others and look forward
to seeing them all again!
Regards
Susie

Rachel,
I apolgise for coming back to you later than planned.
I would like to
express my thanks for providing us with a fantastic night out. The
music
from 'Evening Star' made the night, and this has been confirmed
by an
extraordinary number of people who felt they wanted to provide feedback
on
the evening. We have, as you know already, booked you for next year
and I
am sure we will now be turning people away due to excess demand.
Thank you once again - a brilliant event.
Regards,

Have confirmed with Alan today that we definitely
want you for the 5th March next year. That was the only date left
for the Warren before May. He is sending me the paperwork so I can
can send a deposit. You were superb and I would hate to miss out
for next year.
Regards
Angela

Just a quick note to say thanks very much indeed
for the great performance
on Saturday. We had a great time and with the added bonus of the
proposal,
a real night to remember. If you don't mind I will contact you soon,
with a
few dates during the summer for another gig.
Thanks again
Dave

Hi Rachel
Sorry it has taken me so long to write and say
a very big thank you to you and the others in Evening Star for playing
so fantastically at our wedding!
We are now back from a blissful two weeks in Italy
- Amalfi Coast and Rome - and back home settling into life as Mr
and Mrs Collis!
Our wedding day absolutely was everything we could
have hoped for and you guys really were amazing.
It is not just us that thinks that - you should
see how many mentions you get in the thank you letters Mum and Dad
have received!
I can't thank you enough for playing and playing
and playing - great song after great song - you just didn't stop!
That dance floor was one of the fullest I have
ever seen at a wedding - I know our friends like to dance but think
the combination of your fab music, the time of night and where we
positioned the dance floor meant they had no choice!
I am sorry (and amazed) that you didn't seem to
take a break once you started after dinner but Mum says you all
said you were having too much fun to stop! You must have been exhausted
afterwards!
I will particularly remember our first dance which
you sang beautifully, YMCA of course - that was classic - and the
"Dirty Dancing" spectacular which was a lot of fun! We
could hear "New York New York" as we were getting changed
too!
Mum and Dad were actually very anti us having a
band when we originally said we would like one but none of their
fears (loads of punks playing stuff they wouldn't know too loud)
were needed - you couldn't have been more perfect! Exactly what
we had dreamed of!
Do please pass on our thanks to the other guys
in the band!
If you ever want to provide a reference for you
please don't hesitate to give my email address to people and I'll
happily rave on about you all!
All the best with your baby and once again thank
you all so very much indeed
Sophie and Rupert

Dear Rachel (& Evening Star)
Thank you so much for giving us a fantastic evening last night.
we have had
many compliments to pass onto you and everyone seems to have had
a great
time. It was excellent to see that at one point everyone in the
room was up
dancing - not seen that often at parties.
So please thank all the band for us - and we will
certainly keep you in mind
again. Good Luck with the baby later in the year.
Best wishes
Jill
